Heritage’s landholdings and royalty interests are concentrated in 12 significant areas across Alberta, southern Saskatchewan and southwest Manitoba. Our largest land holding is in the Palliser Block, a contiguous block of lands covering approximately 1.8 million acres in southeast Alberta.

Heritage’s freehold mineral titles are derived from a succession of historical land grants dating back to the 1600s, followed by a series of transactions among previous owners. Please visit this page to learn more about how our holdings and titles came to be.

Heritage’s fee simple acreage is in the public domain and is searchable on any public land database. Most of our lands are held under the name Heritage Royalty Resource Corp. If you are searching our Manitoba lands, please note that these lands are held by Heritage Manitoba Holdings Inc. Also please note that in east-central Alberta and west-central Saskatchewan, there is a block comprising approximately 1 million acres of “checkerboard”-patterned lands that remain in Heritage’s name but for which the rights have been assigned to another company, and are not available for lease.
